WHAT INFORMATION DO YOU COLLECT THROUGH SHOPIFY’S APIS?

Mahina Event Calendar App uses the Shopify API to access the merchant's name, email, Store-id and Store-url information. The name and email data will be used primarily for the initial welcome message, RSVP notifications and App updates, if any. Merchant's Store-id and Store-url are used as an identifier for the events you create on our website. API access includes the ability to read your products, read and write themes and install the App's script on your store.

The product API isn't currently in use, but the plan is to incorporate it in the upcoming feature where the store-owners can customise RSVP emails. The reading and writing of Themes is used in automated App Installation, where we create a custom template and a page or edit an existing page when you choose this installation option. The Script API is used to install an App script when you first login to our website. This script is responsible for creating the App Layout and loading your events. The Script API is also programmed by Shopify to remove the script when you uninstall our app.

WHAT INFORMATION DO YOU COLLECT DIRECTLY FROM MERCHANTS’ CUSTOMERS?

For the users that have the RSVP plan active, the fields are set to collect name and email, only if the customers choose to respond. Otherwise, we track how many times the event has been viewed and clicked anonymously, without connecting that information to a particular customer.

WHERE IS THE DATA STORED?

All of the App's data is held in servers based out of Newyork, USA.

Yes, we do use cookies only when we are verifying user login and for securing the merchant's form input data.

HOW LONG DO YOU RETAIN THE DATA?

We retain the data till the App is uninstalled. After the uninstallation of the app, we obtain a request from Shopify asking the deletion of information within 48 hours. After which, your account, events and RSVP information will be deleted from our servers.
